Sick
I've used up all of my earned paid time off from work and my boss finally offered to let me sleep in this morning without having to use unpaid time off because she felt so bad for me. Thank you, Boss.
The only good thing about my sickness this week was that I got to spend some more time with my cute little fur ball. He definitely knew I wasn't feeling well and was extra snuggly all week.
Here's to hoping I can get back to my non-sick life soon!

What I’m Loving Wednesday
I’m linking up with Jamie for another edition of What I’m Loving Wednesday!
I’m loving that my family (mom, dad, and youngest sister) came out to visit us last week! We did all sorts of fun things around town, but I’ll save the specifics for another post :-)
I’m loving the yummy dinner we had on St. Patrick’s Day! We always have corned beef and cabbage to celebrate the holiday, and we also enjoyed some of our favorite Irish drinks. Yum!
I’m loving Timbuk2 laptop messenger bags. I think this is what I want for my birthday, but with different colors that I can customize online. I bought a couple of fancy-looking laptop bags before I started my new job but the straps have frayed and broken on one of them already and I haven’t even had the job for three months. The Timbuk2 bag just seems like it would be the perfect, durable work bag for me. What do you think?
I’m loving this funny thing printed on a small traffic cone in a gift shop in San Francisco. Hilarious! And relatable…
I’m loving our church and all of the wonderful friends we’ve made in just a few months! Everyone is so wonderful and welcoming and nice and we just love being a part of such a great group. We can’t wait to get to know these people even better.
And I am ALWAYS loving these wonderful guys!
Happy Wednesday!

Wrecking Crew Orchestra video
Have you seen this video yet? All I can say is, wow.
Wrecking Crew Orchestra, a dance group from Japan, performs an awesome routine with light suits to some catchy music (including one song from the new Tron soundtrack) and it is wonderfully choreographed and timed. I am totally impressed with their creativity and skill. Dave and I couldn't stop watching yesterday! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Happy Monday!

What I’m Loving Wednesday
It has been a while sine I’ve participated in What I’m Loving Wednesday and I’m excited to be back!
I’m loving California! I will always be a Colorado girl at heart, but I am loving this state too. The beach is less than an hour away in one direction and the mountains are about two hours away in the other direction. Can’t beat that!
I’m loving Zazzle.com! I have used this site before to create custom postage for our wedding and holiday cards, print holiday and moving cards, and print invitations. I just design everything in Photoshop, upload my file and, voila! Custom designed stuff. Recently they have added a whole bunch of new products that you can print on, like throw pillows, napkins, placemats, and kitchen towels! I don’t know why this makes me so darn excited, but it totally does. Hello custom everything! (No, they didn’t pay me to say this, I just love it so much!)
I’m loving wine. No, not because it’s fun to drink (well, it is), but because of my new job at a winery I have a whole new appreciation for it. I am learning so much about the wine making process, different kinds of grapes, what can give the same varietals different flavors, how vintage can affect taste, etc. And now that I’ve had the chance to sample many of my company’s wines, I’m hooked on them for life.
I’m loving that my mom, dad, and youngest sister are coming to visit on Friday! So far my aunt and uncle have been the only ones to visit since we moved, so it will be nice to have some other visitors. We have plans to check out San Francisco, do some wine tasting, and go out to eat at some fun places. I can’t wait!
And, of course, I’m loving these two guys!
Happy Wednesday!

Weekend cabin trip
This past weekend we were invited to a cabin up in the “mountains” with some of the couples from our church small group, and we had a blast! We were just above 5000 feet in elevation which was almost like being back in Denver, but certainly not quite like being in the familiar Colorado mountains.
The area was beautiful with super tall trees and…
wait for it…
SNOW!!
I hadn’t seen snow since July, so I was super excited to see the area covered in that familiar white powder. Ahhhhhhh! Beautiful.
We drove up on Friday night and played some games with the other couples and just hung out. On Saturday all but me and one other gal (also named Sarah and who has a cutie pie 3-month-old daughter) went skiing/snowboarding. Sarah and I had fun playing with the baby and I also was able to catch up on some of my digital scrapbooking. It was soooooo relaxing. This is one of my finished scrapbook pages from the weekend:
Dave had a great time skiing (like he always does) and the group came back from the slopes tired and hungry. We spent Saturday night eating good food, watching YouTube videos, talking, and playing more games. It was a blast!
It was such a great time and we loved getting to know some of the other couples better. We were sad to go on Sunday but we were so glad that we made the trip!

Deliciously Vegan Fridays
Welcome to another edition of Deliciously Vegan Fridays! This week’s recipe: Peanut Butter Cup Soft Serve. I adapted this recipe from one I found online here.
Peanut Butter Cup Soft Serve
Ingredients:
2 cups banana chunks
8 Tbsp almond milk
2 Tbsp all natural peanut butter
4 Tbsp vegan mini chocolate chips
2 dark chocolate peanut butter cups
Directions:
1. In a blender, blend the banana chunks, almond milk and peanut butter on high speed for 20-30 seconds (or until smooth). Add the chocolate chips and crumble in the peanut butter cup; blend for 10-15 seconds.
2. Put mixture into an ice cream maker for 10-15 minutes or until frozen. Serve and enjoy!
On a scale of 10, we would give it a 7. It wasn't bad it just wasn’t extraordinary. It only made about two generous servings, so be sure to up the ingredients if you are making it for a crowd.
That’s my recipe for the week. If you made a vegan recipe and would like to share be sure to link up below. Happy Friday!
