The beginning of us started way back in 2003 at Colorado
State University… this one time, at band camp. Seriously. Dave was on the drumline (playing tenors) and I was in the color guard (spinning flags and
wooden guns and shaking my pom pons). We met at a pizza party after the first
day of band camp. We had our first date five days later, and then on the sixth
day of knowing each other Dave called and asked if I would like to “go out with
him and stuff”. The rest is history.
We were married on July 14, 2007, on Lookout Mountain in
Genesee, Colorado. We were so blessed to
be able to celebrate out special day with so many of our family and friends. We
love Colorado, we love being outdoors and it was the perfect wedding for us!
In April of 2009, we adopted our West Highland White Terrier (Westie) named Gromit from a local humane society. He was a stray with no identification and nobody to claim him as theirs. When he showed up as adoptable on the humane society website we jumped at the chance to meet him. We both fell instantly in love and he came home with us a couple of days later. We certainly love our little fur baby!
We lived in a small college town in Colorado while Dave
worked on getting his Ph.D., which only took eight years. (Ha!) In September of
2011 Dave graduated with his doctorate degree and was offered a job in northern
California. So, we packed up our lives and moved to the bay area where we are
currently enjoying life.
In March of 2013 we welcomed our son, Carter, into the world. He is the light of our lives and we are enjoying getting to know him as he is growing right in front of us! While we can't wait to watch him grow up and see who he becomes, we are also enjoying every stage of his early life and don't want him to get too big too fast (even if it means we aren't getting any sleep!).
